Traffic at Paris Aéroport up by 1.8% in 2016, at 97.2 million passengers

2016 Full Year traffic
Paris Aéroport handled a total of 97.2 million passengers in 2016, an increase of 1.8% compared to the previous year. Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport welcomed 65.9 million passengers (+0.3%) and Paris-Orly Airport 31.3 million (+5.3%). Traffic increased by 1.5% over the 1st half of the year and increased by 2.1% over the 2nd half.
  • International traffic (excluding Europe) was up slightly (+0.4%), with an increase in following destinations: French Overseas Territories (+4.8%), the Middle East (+3.6%), Latin America  (+2.0%),  Africa  (+1.9%)  and North America (+0.1%). Only Asia-Pacific were down (-6.7%) due notably to the decrease of traffic with Japan and Malaysia;
  • European traffic (excluding France) was up (+3.4%) driven by the dynamism of low-cost carriers;
  • Traffic within France was up (+1.1%);
  • The number of connecting  passengers  has  risen  by  1.2%.  The  connecting  rate  stood  at  23.9%,  down by 0.1 points.
Passenger traffic at TAV Airports, 38%-owned by Groupe ADP, increased by 2.0%(1) in 2016, to 104.4 million passengers.
Passenger traffic at Santiago, 45%-owned by Groupe ADP, have risen by 11.3%, with 19.2 million passengers welcomed in 2016.

Traffic in December 2016
In December 2016, Paris Aéroport saw 7.7 million passengers, an increase of 8.8% compared to December 2015. 5 million passengers travelled through Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport (+7.5%) and 2.5 million through Paris-Orly Airport (+11.5%).
As a reminder, the events that occurred in Paris and St Denis on 13 November 2015 impacted passenger traffic at the Paris airports, with a decrease in traffic of 2.8 % in December 2015 compared to December 2014.
  • International traffic (excluding Europe) was up (+7.7%), in all the destinations: the Middle East (+14.6%), Africa (+9.7%), Asia-Pacific (+7.1%), Latin America (+6.6%), North America (+4.8%) and French Overseas Territories (+3.2%).
  • European traffic (excluding France) was strongly up (+11.4%);
  • Traffic within France was up (+5.6%);
  • The number of connecting passengers increased  by  1.5%.  The  connecting  rate  stood  at  24.6%,  down by 1.6 points compared to December 2015.
Passenger traffic at TAV Airports, 38%-owned by Groupe ADP, increased by 2.3% in December 2016. Passenger traffic at Santiago, 45%-owned by Groupe ADP, have risen by 15.1% in December 2016.
