Groupe ADP is working with IATA to obtain CEIV Pharma certification for cargo operators

Groupe ADP, in collaboration with the International Air Transport Association (IATA), has launched an initiative for certification from the Center of Excellence for Independent Validators in Pharmaceutical Logistics (CEIV Pharma) within the cargo community at Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport.

The initiative involves all players throughout the air cargo supply chain. IATA created this certification with the aim of guaranteeing a global standard based on international    regulations    in    the    shipping    of    pharmaceutical    products. The certification has since established itself as the benchmark in the shipping of vaccines, which must observe cold chain integrity.

Today in Paris-Charles de Gaulle, Europe’s leading airport for Cargo with 2.2 million metric tonnes handled in 2015, Air France Cargo and Bolloré Logistics are now certified and committed to promoting the community initiative. A CEIV Pharma-certified supply chain will bolster the position of Paris-Charles de Gaulle as a major airport in the shipping of pharmaceutical products.
At the start of 2017, seven major players in transport and logistics – Transdev, QuickSTAT Groupe Europe Handling, Tendron, Panalpina, WFS and Swissport – already plan to move forward on CEIV Pharma certification. This would give them a valuable asset to increase the flow of shipments in the area of pharmaceutical products. Two other companies, Alyzia and DB Schenker, will soon join this initiative. The majority of participating firms are expected to obtain individual certification by the end of the year, which will reinforce the attractiveness of Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport. Pharmaceutical air cargo is a fast-growing market, with an economic impact estimated at 10.28 billion dollars worldwide by 2018.
Groupe ADP is leading efforts in the community and providing active and financial support along the  way,  reaffirming  its  unifying  role  for  cargo  players  at  Paris-Charles   de  Gaulle   Airport. The initiative is approved and supported by industry professionals and organisations such as the Union TLF Overseas (Transport et Logistique de France [the French federation of transport and logistics companies]), the Comité Interprofessionnel du Fret (Cross-industry cargo committee - CIF), and the Syndicat des Compagnies Aériennes de Fret en France (Union of French cargo airlines - SYCAFF).
